Last weekend Onesimus Good news Boys center received three visitors from Tamarind Villages Mombasa. Mrs. Janet and her Lead Team advised the boys on different topics. It was such a blessed time and we thank you for coming!

Today we held one of our foster home days. All the children age 12 and above came together. We talked about topics of being right and responsibilities. After this we had activities demonstrating what it means to be responsible. It was a very successful day and the teens really enjoyed it.

A few days ago, we had our 3rd time giving out relief food to the poorest families of our community in Port Reitz where our school is located. Director Joseph Matheka was present in Kenya. He was encouraging parents to be strong, to continue trusting in God meeting their daily needs in this difficult season.

Today, august 22nd is an important day. The first seminar on parenting skills. Rehabilitation is only done with the boys, but the problems often originate from the situation at home. The officials from Kenya are enthusiastic about our approach and will come over from Nairobi to open the seminar.

Our new boys in Onesimus have been going through some rehabilitation after that it’s our aim to reintegrate them back to their family. Here are some pictures of some boys who are successful reunited with their family. As S2S we keep in touch with the family. We are very proud of our social workers who do an amazing job. A family setting is still the best for any child to grow up in.

After the first distribution on 30th April, we felt it was necessary to send our social worker and headteacher to visit every family we are helping to determine the needs (more than 40 have between 5-10 children). When we looked at their data, we decided to first give an equal ration to every family on our list. And then we would follow up two weeks later and give the very needy families a top-up ration.
